Interior Alaska
Room to feel small.
The scale arrives before the words do. Ridges stack behind ridges, the tundra changes color with the light, and the Alaska Range fills a horizon that never quite fits in a photograph.
We come back to the small details, too: the shape of a river channel, the stillness between gusts, the stretch of country between one glimpse of wildlife and the next. They are the starting points for our Denali illustrations.

For the person who brought binoculars, a backup pair of binoculars, and absolutely no intention of leaving early. A little Denali, a little dry humor, and a bear doing its own thing.
